LONG ISLAND BICYCLE CLUB CUESHEETS
LIBC cuesheets are arranged by section. Section A includes rides from Westbury High School, the club's starting location. Sections B and C have rides from remote start locations on Long Island, Westchester County and Connecticut. Sections D through H have rides from areas where the club rides on weekend trips.

SECTION A - Rides from Westbury High School, the club's main ride start location.
Directions To Start: Take the Northern State Parkway to Post Avenue - Exit 32 North. Go north on Post Ave. The school is on the right just after Jericho Turnpike. Park by the tennis courts.
A-001 - Standard Ride to Bayville (34.4 miles - Moderate)
"The "Standard" LIBC Ride goes through Syosset (with a stop at the firehouse), Oyster Bay and Mill Neck. The lunch stop is in Bayville (eat on the beach or in one of the restaurants). Then it's back to the lot through Locust Valley and Old Brookville."
A-002 - Bethpage / Bayville (53 miles - Moderate)
Goes east through Syosset, Woodbury, Plainview, Bethpage and Melville. Then heads north and west to lunch in Bayville via West Hills, Cold Spring Harbor, Oyster Bay and Mill Neck. After lunch, heads back through Locust Valley.
A-003 - Ronkonkoma Century (100.1 miles - Flat)
This very flat century begins by heading west on the LIE Service Rd. It then heads east through Bethpage, Wyandanch, Commack and Lake Ronkonkoma and then back west to the lot.
A-004 - Bethpage - Elwood - Commack (53.7 miles - Moderate)
This ride goes to Bethpage Park via Syosset. It then heads north into Elwood
and Commack and returns through Dix Hills
A-005 - Ides of March Ride (49.2 miles - Hilly)
Lots of twists, turns and hills - this ride goes through Port Washington and Great Neck. An LIBC classic. "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in the hills, But in ourselves, that we are underlings." In other words, "Beware the Ides of March." Togas required, daggers optional!
A-006 - Eatons Neck (59.5 miles - Hilly)
First to the Syosset firehouse, then some hills, flat along the beach to Eatons Neck, then lunch in Northport and back the flat way on Pulaski. Lots of great views on this ride.
A-007 - Port Washington-Sea Cliff-Bayville (59 miles - Moderate)
This ride tours the North Shore along the water through Port Washington, Sands Point, Roslyn, Sea Cliff, Glen Cove, Lattingtown and Bayville.
A-008 - Sunken Meadow - Northport (54.4 miles - Moderate)
After the Syoset firehouse, the route is flat to Sunken Meadow Park. Then it's hills to Northport (lunch stop) and a few more hills after lunch. You can enter Sunken Meadow Park at the bottom of Kohr Rd and ride to the beach. Just before Northport, James Street has one of the best views on Long Island.
A-009 - East Northport (38.6 miles - Flat)
Goes by the Syosset Firehouse and then heads through Huntington and Greenlawn to East Northport. Then loops back via Palaski Road, Woodbury Road and the LIE Service Road.
A-010 Stony Brook (71.1 miles - Moderate)
Goes by the Syosset Fire House. Then heads through Huntington, Greenlawn, Commack, Kings Park and Nissequogue. Lunch is in Stony Brook. Returns back through St James, Hauppauge, and Elwood.
A-011 North Shore Loop the Loop (58 miles - Moderate)
Goes through Syosset, Oyster Bay, Center Island, Bayville, Lattingtown, Morgan's Island, Glen Cove, Locust Valley, Mill Neck. This ride can be shortened by eliminating one or more loops along the way.
A-012 Cold Spring Harbor-Bayville (Clare's Heavenly Heartbreak) (39 miles - Moderate)
Goes to Bayville for lunch via Syosset, Cold Spring Harbor (climbing Heartbreak Hill), and Oyster Bay. Returns via Locust Valley and Brookville. Heartbreak Hill is a challenge.
A-013 Huntington Via Cold Spring Harbor (38 miles - Moderate)
Goes through Syosset and Cold Spring Harbor into Huntington.
A-014 Bayville Via Morgan's Island (39.9 miles - Moderate)
Goes to Bayville through Glen Cove, Morgan's Island and Lattingtown. Then returns via Mill Neck, Oyster Bay, Brookville and the SUNY Old Westbury Campus.
A-015 Oyster Bay Via Morgan's Island-Bayville (34.5 miles - Moderate)
This ride goes to Oyster Bay via Morgans Island and Bayville. It then returns through Brookville. Note that Morgan's Island isn't really an island. You'll ride on 2 bridges to get on to Morgan's island, but you'll get off without going on a bridge.
A-016 Have You Seen Sweet Beth-Page? (42 miles - Flat)
Goes through the SUNY Old Westbury campus to the Syosset firehouse. Then heads through Cold Spring Harbor and Plainview to Old Bethpage. The route then takes the Bethpage bike path south to Massapequa Park. The return trip is north through Wantagh and East Meadow..
A-017 Cold Spring Harbor - Lloyd Neck - Oyster Bay (44.4 miles - Moderate)
This route goes to Cold Spring Harbor via Syosset. It then goes to Lloyd Neck as far as Caumsett State Park, returning via Huntington and Oyster Bay. There is a shortcut that eliminates Caumsett and reduces the distance to 35 miles. Lunch can be in either Huntington or in Oyster Bay.
A-018 Glen Cove - Morgan's Park via Morgan's Island (31.8 miles - Flat)
This route goes to Cold Spring Harbor via Syosset. It then goes to Lloyd Neck as far as Caumsett State Park, returning via Huntington and Oyster Bay. There is a shortcut that eliminates Caumsett and reduces the distance to 35 miles. Lunch can be in either Huntington or in Oyster Bay.
Section B Remote start rides on Long Island
B-001 - Nissequogue River Ride (51.1 miles - Hilly)
Starts in Kings Park and goes through San Remo, Smithtown, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Old Field, Setauket, Port Jefferson, Belle Terre, Mount Sinai and Miller Place.
B-002 - Port Jefferson to Orient Point (104 miles - Flat)
This ride, originally called the Tall Ships Ride, goes to Morgan's Island and then through Glen Cove to Morgan's Park.
Section C Remote start rides off Long Island
C-001 Tri-County Ride (72.8 miles - hilly)
Starts from Westport, CT and goes north with a lunch stop in Bridgewater. Then heads east and back south.
C-001B Tri-County Ride Backwards (73.8 miles - hilly)
Starts from Westport, CT and goes north with a lunch stop in Bridgewater. Then heads west and back south.
C-002 Pastry and Buns Ride (82.6 miles - moderate)
Starts in Goldens Bridge, NY and goes northeast through Litchfield County, CT to Kent for a lunch of Pastry and Buns. Then goes southwest through Dutchess County, Pawling, Lake Carmel and by the Croton Falls Reservoir.
C-002A Pastry and Buns Ride Improved (85.1 miles - moderate)
The improved version of this ride elimates the long stretch of Rt 22 at the beginning. Starts in Goldens Bridge, NY and goes northeast through Litchfield County, CT to Kent for a lunch of Pastry and Buns. Then goes southwest through Dutchess County, Pawling, Lake Carmel and by the Croton Falls Reservoir.
C-003 Golden Apple 75 Mile Ride (70.9 miles - hilly)
Starts in Katonah, NY. This one could be renamed the Water Ride. Lakes, reservoirs, streams and some other sources of water make this ride really beautiful. Goes around the Croton Reservoir, Amawalk Reservoir and the Titicus Reservoir.
C-003B Golden Apple Backwards (72.3 miles - Hilly)
This one could be renamed the Water Ride. Lakes, reservoirs, streams and some other sources of water make this ride really beautiful. Goes around the Croton Reservoir, Amawalk Reservoir and the Titicus Reservoir.
C-004 Bedford to Bethel (67.7 miles, hilly)
Starts in Westchester County, NY in Bedford and goes east into Fairfield County, CT (New Canaan, Wilton, Weston). Then heads north past Putnam Park to Bethel for lunch. Returns back through Redding and Ridgefield.
C-005 Positively Putnam (Route 66 Revisited) (70 miles, hilly)
A beautiful ride from Goldens Bridge, NY to Sherman, CT. Lots of hills and a beautiful stretch along Route 66 after re-entering New York. Finishes with some nice roads around the reservoirs.
C-006 West Rock (72.5 miles, hilly)
Starting in Westport, this route heads east through Fairfield, Trumbull and into Shelton. It then crosses the Housatonic River, continuing east through Derby, Ansonia, and Woodbridge. Entering New Haven, it climbs to the top of West Rock (about 650 feet). After a rest stop at the summit, with spectacular views of New Haven and across Long Island Sound, it heads back east through Orange and back across the Housatonic.
Section D Remote start rides in Lenox, MA
This is a collection of several rides in and around Lenox, MA that our club uses on a yearly trip.
